Camera Style or Pistol grip

There are two different designs for the handheld x-ray generators: Camera style and so-called pistol grip design. They both work the same and is a preference of the operator. Some operators like to hold the device like a camera, taking “pictures”. This is also less intimidating to patients when taking pictures rather than taking x-rays.  Pistol grip (gun style) allows operator to “shoot” x-ray with one hand, either left of right, making it an ambidextrous device.  Most of the units sold are pistol grip as this design has been in market the longest.

Shoulder Strap

Most handheld x-rays nowadays offer a shoulder strap to help operator to carry the device and preventing accidental drops of the device. The shoulder strap is a great aid and safety harness for every operator.
